The Mallorca 140.6 Triathlon, which is scheduled to be held on September 25th, 2021, in Playa de Muro (Mallorca, Spain), has decided to limit the number of participating athletes to 600. The organising team notes that this is in order to adapt to local rules and regulations, as well as health and safety measures for sport events announced by the Balearic Islands Government.
“We are living in tough and uncertain times in which it is difficult to control situations as an organization, but it is our responsibility to take decisions to give the maximum guarantees to the triathletes who have chosen the Mallorca 140.6 Triathlon,” said David Thompson, Race Director.
He continued, “These decisions, such as the one to cancel the 2020 edition, returning the registration fee, are made by applying transparency and taking care of the participants, which is the objective and philosophy of this race.”
Mallorca 140.6 Triathlon takes the name of the total swim, bike and run distances in miles, equivalent to 226 kilometres. Athletes will have to complete 3,800m of swimming, 180km of cycling and 42.2km of running to the finish line in Playa de Muro.
The race team also offers the ‘Mallorca 140.6 Half Triathlon’, which is half the distance: 1,900m of swimming, 90km of cycling and 21km of running
