Stage 5 of the Tour de France 2021 arrives at the Mayenne department in France on June 30th. To celebrate the stage, the Mayenne Council, in cooperation with local trade show ‘Laval Virtual’, has digitized the 2021 ITT Stage on ROUVY.
‘This gives, any person in the world, the opportunity to visit the famous roads virtually, from home, alongside the cycling pros. To mark the occasion, the opening virtual race for the global community is to take place on June 29th,14:00 CEST.’
After four straight stages for the Tour in Bretagne, Mayenne hosts the first individual time trial of the 2021 edition. The first week of the Tour has not offered such a long individual time trial since 2008, the year of the last Grand Départ in Brest.
“The Tour de France is the hardest but the most famous and the most beautiful bike race in the world,” said Olivier Richefou, Président of the local county council.
“It’s an honour to host this time trial from Changé to Laval – Espace Mayenne, and is a great pride to give everyone the chance to ride it in VR. All the beauty and diversity of la Mayenne is now available for everyone , as much as the technical innovation and the dynamism of our beautiful county is. Have a good race!”
