ASICS EMEA has reported a consolidated net revenue increase of 44% across all distribution channels in year to date (YTD) versus the same period last year. ASICS’ Europe, Middle East & Africa division also reported that YTD operating income ‘increased significantly’ to €70.5 million.
ASICS reported 52% year-on-year growth in wholesale channels across EMEA for the YTD ending June 2021. ASICS revenue in wholesale channels increased year-on-year in Germany (43%), France (77%), UK (50%), Italy (116%) and Iberia (111%).
ASICS EMEA also continued to see e-commerce growth, with an increase of 45% YTD versus last year.
ASICS EMEA, Chief Executive Officer, Carsten Unbehaun said “COVID-19 continues to present challenges around the world. Although we are seeing very positive results in our region, we are managing our business carefully to ensure we can deliver and provide the best experience in the future.
“We are currently seeing unprecedented demand for ASICS products across the region. Our business has grown significantly compared to last year, fuelled by product innovation and the fact that more people are choosing ASICS.
“We are seeing profitable growth from all parts of the business and all channels, demonstrating that we have positive momentum in the region.”
Following the launch of the METASPEED Sky shoe, ASICS launched the METASPEED Edge shoe in June to ‘help cadence-style runners extend their stride length and improve their overall efficiency.’
The company added… ‘Both high-performance shoes have been scientifically designed to support athletes to reach their personal best. Already, well over 100 elite athletes around the world have set personal records while wearing METASPEED Sky and METASPEED Edge shoes.’
