For the 2022 season, the Craft Elite Run Team has added three topflight runners – Tim Freriks, Ida Nilsson and Aroa Sio – to its athlete roster. The team competes internationally in various long-distance events, focusing primarily on trail races.
“We are thrilled to expand our superb team with three additional world-class runners,” said Craft’s Product & Marketing Director Daniel Högling. “Tim, Ida and Aroa make a perfect fit to the team and will bring both great experience and exceptional performance to the line-up.”
Tim Freriks
Based out of Flagstaff, USA, Tim Freriks won the Transvulcania in 2017 and the North Face Endurance Championships 50-mile in San Francisco in 2017.
“I hope to build on the success I’ve had over shorter ultradistance races and put that to the test in 100-mile races in the future,” Freriks said. “I know that Craft Sportswear provides the tools to be successful in doing just that.”
Ida Nilsson
A trailrunning specialist Ida Nilsson has won several of the big races, including the Transvulcania three times in a row, Swiss Alpine and Zegama-Aizkorri. Switching from Team Salomon Running to Craft Elite Run Team, the strong Swede runner aims to conquer the Western States and the 100-mile distance.
Aroa Sio
As part of the National Spanish Team, Aroa Sio placed fourth at the Skyrunning World Championships in 2021. Her track record also includes a silver medal at the Spanish Ultra Championships, and a victory and record time at MIUT 85k in Madeira.
“I’m so excited to join the Craft Elite Run Team, and I’m sure this collaboration will help me achieve even greater success in the future,” Sio said.
The Craft Elite Run Team was launched in 2021 and includes athletes such as: Tommy Rivs, Jacob Puzey, Tessa Chesser, EmKay Sullivan, Manuela Vilaseca, David Laney, Alexander Holmblad, Lee Grantham, Tim Freriks, Aroa Sio and Ida Nilsson.
The runners train and compete in Craft’s CTM Ultra Carbon and CTM Ultra Carbon Race Rebel running shoes.
