SUGOI Performance Apparel, part of the Apparel Footwear Group (AFG) division of Cannondale owner Dorel Industries, has made two new senior appointments. SUGOI has appointed Charles Russell as Senior Vice President, Global Sales and Rob Gill as Senior Designer.
Kyle Weiner, President of SUGOI said, “Charles comes to SUGOI with over fifteen years of extensive experience in sales. Having previously served as SUGOI’s Vice-President of Sales for four years until 2006, we are particularly thrilled to welcome him back to lead our sales team to further success.”
Charles Russell began his career with seven years in managing independent sales agents and increasing revenue in various sales management roles around the world at Bell Sports. He then began his first tenure at SUGOI as Vice-President of Sales from 2002-2006. During this time Russell was responsible for developing sales programs and overall sales strategy to ensure order success. He also worked closely with the product team to develop the right product through extensive work with distributors, retailers and consumers.
A passionate cyclist, Charles then moved on to Cannondale as the Vice President of Sales in Europe where he was responsible for the development and implementation of a successful sales strategy. Most recently he was General Manager of Sales and Marketing, Global for Rocky Mountain Bicycles, where he oversaw the Vancouver office, along with the company’s financial, strategic and sales management.
Also joining SUGOI, in the position of Senior Designer, is Rob Gill, who has over fifteen years of experience creating industry leading technical apparel for outdoor companies. He created official licensed merchandise for the 2010 Winter Olympics Games, as well as all official On-Air apparel worn by officials and commentators.
Gill has developed multiple lifestyle apparel programs for Helly Hansen North America and designed multiple seasons of technical apparel for Cannondale Bicycles. Gill has also been working with SUGOI as an external contractor for years and was responsible for designing the award winning ‘Formula FX’ Chamois.
