Citroën ë-Tour by BKOOL virtual stage race under way in March

Citroën and Kas are joining forces to organize a virtual stage race in the BKOOL cycling app. Starting on March 7, the Citroën ë-Tour by BKOOL will take place, with four stages of between 14km and 25 km each, set on virtual streets and highways of Spain and Portugal.

There will be prizes up for grabs for every participant who finishes at least one stage, as well as exclusive rewards for the top finishers in each stage and the General Classification, such as a real jersey, a trainer, the chance to meet and chat with the professional riders of the AG2R Citroën Team, or an exclusive experience in Switzerland with the AG2R Citroën Team courtesy of BMC, one of the sponsors of the event.

  • The setting of the first stage of the Citroën ë-Tour by BKOOL will be near Zaragoza, Spain, with a 22.7km long virtual route and a virtual elevation gain of 479.9 m.
  • On March 14, the race jumps to Portugal with a virtual route from Vila Real to Vila Pouca de Aguiar.
  • Back in Spain, on March 21 the route will follow the Galician coastline, starting in Playa de Samil, continuing along the seashore in the city of Vigo and ending in Chapela.
  • On March 28, the ë-Tour will end, as is traditional in the Vuelta a España, in Madrid, with a virtual stage of 14.8 km and 268.8 m elevation.

For participating and finishing each stage, riders will get a digital jersey. If finishing in the top 10, this jersey features an exclusive virtual design. There is also a drawing for a physical Citroën AG2R Team jersey and a trainer.

The top three in the GC will receive a real jersey, a Zycle roller and the chance to meet and chat with the cyclists of the AG2R Citroën Team. BKOOL will also be giving away an exclusive experience in Switzerland with the AG2R Citroën Team courtesy of BMC, one of the sponsors of the Citroën ë-Tour.

The Citroën ë-Tour by BKOOL is also launching Group Rides, sessions that will be broadcast live on Twitch and Instagram Live to get ready for the stages, featuring the cyclists of the AG2R Citroën Team as well as influencers and sports journalists.
