Allbirds, the ‘global eco-friendly footwear brand’ has gone live with ‘The Unexpected Athlete’, a new campaign starring Lindsay Lohan.
The film, which will be shown across social media, features actress Lindsay Lohan as Allbird’s newest ambassador, to promote the launch of the Allbirds Tree Flyer running shoe.
The campaign was filmed and produced by Shoot the Company, an award-winning production agency as part of its first project with Allbirds, after being appointed earlier in the year.
Allbirds noted that ‘With aligned values of sustainability, Shoot the Company were able to bring their 15 years of experience in brand storytelling to produce the uniquely collaborative film. Shoot the Company have been the long-term, trusted part of clients such as FIFA, UEFA, Barclays and McDonalds.’
Lee Price, Director, Campaigns & Storytelling at Allbirds, said “When Lindsay first took our call, asking if she’d be the face of a running shoe, she probably thought she was in another Freaky Friday situation.
“But she was soon won over by the Allbirds Tree Flyer being cute, comfy, and made from natural materials – and was happy to go from mathlete to athlete.
“We went to Shoot the Company with a broad idea, half a script, a shoot of location ‘erm, Dubai’, and an incredibly tight timeline. Somehow, they took that garbled brief, combined it with the needs of A-list talent, and created a seamless, enjoyable process – with brilliant content at the end of it.
“Working with STC was like going to (good) therapy. They asked all the right questions, nodded politely at my weird answers, and made sense of it all. But please don’t tell anyone else they were good. I want them for myself. Say they were right divas, or something…”
Sara Butler, Managing Director of Shoot the Company, said “Producing this campaign was a real pleasure.
“Working with Allbirds and Lindsay’s team was a dream and there was a collaborative feel from start to finish and we are delighted to see the campaign go live. It’s been great to forge a creative partnership with Allbirds and we look forward to working with them in the future.”
