Digital sports broadcaster DAZN gets on board with PTO Tour

The Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO) has signed a two-year broadcast deal with DAZN Group, a global sports entertainment company, to stream the new PTO Tour on DAZN. This started with a stream of the first PTO Canadian Open in Edmonton on July 23-24, 2022.

DAZN is a global digital sports broadcaster, with a strong footprint in Italy, Japan, DACH (Germany Austria, and Switzerland) and Spain. The deal is non-exclusive and includes:

  • Live and highlights in Canada, Japan, South Africa, APAC, Australia, New Zealand & MENA
  • Highlights shows in Europe (48 hours delayed)
  • Preview countdown documentaries globally (not including USA)
  • Delayed rights to the Herbalife24 PTO Pro Am (not including USA), archive documentaries including ‘Beyond Human’, the 2021 Collins Cup highlights and follow up documentary ‘Birth of the Collins Cup’

“We are delighted to have DAZN on board for the first PTO Tour season,” said Tim Godfrey, PTO Chief Marketing Officer. “Growing the broadcast reach for our events and amazing athletes has been a key focus for us as we countdown to the season opener in Edmonton which promises elite women’s and men’s races not to be missed.”

DAZN EVP Rights, Tom Burrows said “Adding the PTO tour to our platform underlines our commitment to making a broad range of sport more accessible to an ever-increasing number of passionate fans. This first PTO Tour represents a landmark moment for triathlon that we wanted our audiences to be part of and we are excited to broadcast these events.”
