Precision Fuel & Hydration (PF&H) has unveiled its Fuel & Hydration Planner to help athletes of all abilities prepare for training and events.
According to the nutrition specialist… ‘the tool harnesses decades of proven scientific research, race data, user information and more than 11 years of PF&H working with thousands of athletes.
‘It is simple to use and advises athletes on how much carbohydrate, sodium and fluid to consume, while delivering a step-by-step guide to hitting those numbers.’
PF&H is the official fuel and hydration partner of the PTO Tour; and athletes racing the PTO Tour Collins Cup and World Triathlon Multisport Championships in Slovakia this weekend can use the Fuel & Hydration Planner. This will create a plan that includes guidance on how to use the on-course nutrition – provided by PF&H.
PF&H CEO and co-founder Andy Blow said “Our aim with the Fuel & Hydration Planner was to enable all athletes, everywhere, to have access to the same expertise the pros they enjoy watching have access to, so that they can avoid common race nutrition mistakes and nail their performance when it matters most.”
To mark the launch, PF&H has also introduced new fuelling products:
- Its PF 30 Caffeine Gel provides 30g of carbs and 100mg of caffeine, while the PF 30 Chew also delivers 30g of carbs, but has a high carb-to-weight ratio for athletes who need to travel light.
- PF&H has also released the PF 90 Gel, which contains 90g of carbs in a resealable pouch, and a bite valve that can be screwed on to the pouch to make it easier to fuel on the go.
Pro triathlete Emma Pallant-Browne, has been working with PF&H for several years and said “Knowing how much carb, fluid and sodium I need to replace when I race makes it easier for me to stay fuelled and hydrated and produce my best performance.
“My biggest tip would be to plan and to know your numbers, so that if you drop something you know how to make up for that. I’ve even started walking through aid stations to make sure I get in exactly what I need and it always pays off at the end of the run.”
