The Aosta Valley (Valle d’Aosta), in northwestern Italy, is getting set to host The TOR330 – Tor des Géants from September, 11-18.
Spanning Valle d’Aosta, and running along the Alta Via n° 1 and the Alta Via n° 2 footpaths in the Alps, the route traverses the Gran Paradiso National Park and the Mont Avic Regional Park. According to the event organisers, the running race is… ‘a tough test of endurance and tenacity rewarded by the splendid alpine landscapes of the Aosta Valley.’
Spanning 330km, the TOR330 – Tor des Géants organisation does not impose any compulsory stages or specify stop points. The winner is the runner who completes the race in the shortest time, making his/her own decisions on when and how long to stop for rest and refreshment.
Starting and finishing in Courmayeur, the race starts in two groups: set for 10:00 CET (1st group) and 12:00 (2nd group) on Sunday, September 11th. To beat the cut-off, runners must complete the route by 18:00 on Saturday, September 17th.
