Uvex returns to UCI WorldTour

Uvex is opening up a new chapter in the top level of cycling. Intermarché-Circus-Wanty, one of the best teams on the UCI WorldTour, is now riding with Uvex performance products.

Michael Winter, Managing Partner of the Uvex Group said “Athletes rely on Uvex in the most emotional moments. Our helmet and eyewear technologies are already world class. At Uvex, we are not satisfied with that – we think ahead.

“The bike segment is growing and with our new partnership we are heading towards the future. It is a milestone for the brand and for the development of new, innovative products that will inspire all cyclists.”

Uvex is working on new performance products together with the UCI WorldTeam, which finished last season in the top five of the world rankings. Thanks to in-house development and own production facilities, the rider feedback has a direct impact on new helmets and eyewear. New Uvex models are expected in the coming months.

Christophe Weissenberger, CEO of the Uvex Sports Group, said “In sports, Uvex is a sought-after performance brand. Partnerships with top athletes are in the brand’s DNA and with Intermarché-Circus-Wanty we underline our claim.

“The long-term cooperation provides us with a new dimension in international brand presence and supports us in addressing new markets and target groups with innovative bike products.”

The Intermarché-Circus-Wanty helmet collection includes the uvex rise and the uvex race 9 for the typical race days. The uvex race 9 has large ventilation channels to ensure a cool head, especially for climbers and in warmer weather conditions. The lightweight helmet passed the WorldTour competition in aerodynamic tests already before the start of the season. Especially for the pros, the uvex rise has been equipped with an upgrade package that offers even more performance and comfort features.

In the time trial, Intermarché-Circus-Wanty relies on the uvex race 8 and thus on the helmet, which proved its ‘top class’ just a few weeks ago at the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii with winner Chelsea Sodaro. A shortened teardrop shape and special dimples on the helmet shell provide optimized air flow and power savings on the time trial bike.

The pros are also equipped with Uvex eyewear models. They can choose between the uvex pace one V, the uvex sportstyle 231 2.0 V (both with automatic lens tinting) or the uvex sportstyle 236 (with interchangeable lenses).

The design of the team collection fits into the colour scheme of the UCI WorldTeam. On Saturday January 14th, 2023 Intermarché-Circus-Wanty will be wearing Uvex helmets and eyewear for the first time. In addition to the WorldTour pros, the new development team (Circus-ReUz-Technord) and the cross team (Tormans Cyclo Cross Team) also ride with Uvex.
