Launch of ‘Swim, Bike, RunThrough’ event business in the UK

RunThrough is holding the inaugural Thorpe Park Sprint Triathlon in South East England, offering participants a unique opportunity to race a triathlon within the popular UK amusement park on Sunday July 2, 2023.

The Thorpe Park Sprint Triathlon is the first multisport event delivered solely by the RunThrough team as part of its newly launched ‘Swim, Bike, RunThrough’ event business.

Participants will take to the water of Fleet Lake (adjacent to the theme park) for a 750m swim before exiting the water and taking to two wheels for a 20km out and back loop on roads around the park. Finally, participants will complete a 5km run within the theme park.

Once across the finish line and recovered, there is an opportunity to enjoy all of the Thorpe Park rides included as part of the race entry fee.

The Thorpe Park Sprint Triathlon is the first multisport event organised and delivered solely by RunThrough, which has over 200 events that host over 200,000 runners annually.

The new inaugural Thorpe Park event, part of the newly launched Swim, Bike, RunThrough brand, is part of a growing portfolio of events jointly delivered by RunThrough, Active Training World and Dorney Lake Events.

Other multisport events include the London Aquathlon held in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the Guildford Triathlon and Kids Aquathlon as well as a number of triathlon and duathlon events held at Dorney Lake.

Matt Wood, Co-Founder of RunThrough, said “it is fantastic to be further growing our portfolio of not only running events but triathlon and multisport events to give people of all the abilities more opportunities to take part in aquathlons, duathlons and triathlons.

“We are proud to be able to bring our event organisation expertise gained over the course of 10 years as well as the incredible welcoming atmosphere that all RunThrough events have become famous for.”
