Leading online multisport retailer Chain Reaction Cycles (CRC) and Octagon Esedos SL have partnered to produce three events in Spain in 2012, including title sponsorship of the Quebrantahuesos (QH) – Spain’s largest and most famous Gran Fondo. The three year deal will also see CRC sponsor the inaugural Chain Reaction Cycles QH Middle Distance Triathlon and the Spanish XCM mountain bike Championships.
The Chain Reaction Cycles QH will take place between Friday 22nd – Saturday 23rd June 2012 leaving from the Spanish town of Sabiñánigo , passing over the Col du Somport (1,640m), France’s Col du Marie Blanque (Cat 1), Col du Portalet (Cat 1, 1,795m) and Hoz before finishing back in Sabiñánigo.
Grant Norris, Chain Reaction Cycles Events Manager said “We’re thrilled to be title sponsor of Quebrantahuesos for the next three years. This is an iconic ride, with 21 years of history and over 11,000 participants taking part each year. Being involved at the top level will allow us to meet with our Spanish customers and be part of one of the very best road cycling events in the European Calendar.”
Jose Luis Arce, Cyclosports Manager at Octagon added “With more than 20 years in the saddle, we are constantly aiming to increase the profile and stature of our event – making it bigger and better each year. In what we feel is an ideal partnership, August and September 2012 will also see CRC sponsor the inaugural Chain Reaction Cycles QH Middle Distance Triathlon and QH MTB race – which in itself will be the ‘XCM Spanish Championships’. Details on these events will be published soon.”
