800 registered runners from 46 US states and 19 countries, regions and territories will descend upon Harrisonburg, Virginia, for the 2023 Grindstone Trail Running Festival by UTMB. Taking place on September 22-23, 2023, athletes will embark on one of the three distances – 100-mile, 100K and 21K – that take runners through Shenandoah Valley in western Virginia.
Part of the UTMB World Series, the 2023 Grindstone Trail Running Festival by UTMB is a qualifying event for the Dacia UTMB Mont-Blanc – UTMB World Series Final, Western States Endurance Run, and the Hardrock 100.
Billed as one of the hardest courses on the US East Coast, Grindstone features a technical course. The organising team notes that runners will face… ‘high elevation, ridges, peaks, valleys, and all the grit the Shenandoah Valley has to offer.’
