STA extends with Henley Swim, which celebrates 20th year in 2024

The Swimming Teachers’ Association (STA), a national UK governing body for swimming, will again host the lido (free swim area) at the Outdoor Swimmer Henley Swim Festival on July 13-14, 2024.

This year marks a special year for Henley Swim as its celebrates its 20th anniversary. The swim event specialist expects its Henley Swim Festival to be its biggest yet in 2024, with over 1,500 swimmers expected. This year there will be an extra night for camping, an event village with entertainment and swim brands and more activities for participants and spectators.

The lido area offers all swimmers and spectators an opportunity to have a free supervised swim in the River Thames. It is close to the main event village making it easy for anyone to enjoy a dip. The STA will meet and greet outdoor swimmers and coaches alike.

Zoe Cooper, Commercial Director at STA, said “We are excited to operate the lido for another year as Henley Swim marks their 20th birthday. This year our STA open water brand ambassadors / coaches will be hand to offer open water swimming advice, guidance, and coaching tips; and like last year they are also looking forward to helping first-time dippers of all ages enjoy the open water.”

The Henley Swim Festival offers multiple swim distances – including a 200m splash (parents can swim for free with children), Zoggs half mile, one mile and 4-mile challenge. With camping extended for two nights, live music, food and an event village full of retailers, the festival is for new and experienced swimmers alike.
