Sennheiser all ears as headphone partner of DATEV Challenge Roth

Audio brand Sennheiser is making a new commitment to triathlon and has become the headphone partner of ‘the world’s largest long-distance triathlon’, DATEV Challenge Roth.

This year’s race will be held in southern Germany on July 7, 2024. The Sennheiser brand will present its latest products at the Triathlon Expo in Roth, which runs from July 4-7, 2024. New Sennheiser products include the Momentum Sport earbuds, which combine high quality sound with in-ear training monitoring and will be released on April 9, 2024.

“Challenge Roth is one of the biggest global sporting events in triathlon, a sport where accurate fitness tracking is very important,” said Paul Hughes, Sennheiser Director, PR, Influencers & Partnerships.

“We are therefore very much looking forward to working together and exhibiting at the Triathlon Expo – together we want to help athletes and sports enthusiasts from all over the world perform at their best with optimal sound and precise tracking data.”

Challenge Roth Race Director Felix Walchshöfer said “We are very proud to have Sennheiser as a partner for triathlon and DATEV Challenge Roth. [It is] a global market leader in the audio sector that stands for absolutely cutting-edge technologies.

“The brand stands for high-end quality and is therefore very well suited to our sport. Triathletes with an affinity for technology in particular can look forward to new possibilities for monitoring their training.”

On April 9, 2024, the Sennheiser brand is releasing a new pair of earbuds for assisting performance in training, which, in addition to sound quality, offer new features for sports enthusiasts. With the new Momentum Sport, triathletes can monitor their heart rate directly and precisely at the ear, removing the need for chest straps or heart rate sensors on the wrist.

The sensors are integrated into the earbuds and are compatible with most common sports watches and platforms via Bluetooth. When used with certain Polar sports watches or the Polar Flow app, the Momentum Sport earbuds also enable body temperature to be tracked via the ear.

As part of its activation with Challenge Roth, there is also good news for volunteers at this year’s race. Sennheiser is providing premium headphones as a prize for the traditional raffle at the Volunteers’ Party on the Monday after the race.
