Standert’s new Pfadfinder endurance bike re-shores production to Europe

Standert, the boutique bicycle brand hailing from Berlin, specialising in steel & aluminium bikes, has introduced its newly updated Pfadfinder endurance bike.

A release from the company added that… ‘Hand made in the Czech Republic using 3D printed technologies and Columbus Spirit steel tubing, the Pfadfinder is made for the long days, designed to withstand the demands of unhindered long-distance riding on any road.’

Built for endurance, the Pfadfinder aims to speed, comfort, and durability. The frame geometry is a balance between race and comfort, helping to maintain the bike’s versatility and not limit it to only one discipline. The frame can also accommodate up to 38mm tyres, giving riders peace of mind when they venture off the beaten track and across more bone-rattling surfaces.

Columbus Spirit steel tubing is coupled with 3D-printed stainless steel dropouts with a brazed rear triangle. The frame has also been treated with a phosphate anti-corrosion treatment, helping to further extend frame longevity.

Other features include: being UDH (Universal Derailleur Hanger) equipped, mechanical shifting compatible, and having the possibility to fit all standard sized aftermarket stem and cockpit solutions.

The new Pfadfinder has fully integrated cable routing, improving aesthetics and aerodynamics, whilst also protecting the cables and hoses from the elements.

3D printed stainless steel dropouts help to ensure the rear wheel sits perfectly straight in the frame. The use of 3D printing technologies has also allowed Standart to minimise waste, using only the material necessary to create the dropouts.

Fast becoming an industry standard, the updated T47 bottom bracket shell allows for compatibility with a wide range of cranksets and easy maintenance, it has also allowed for easier, more direct cable routing.

The new Pfadfinder is available in sizes 48cm – 60cm and in two colour schemes: Midnight Marauder and Sage Salida

The Pfadfinder is Standert’s first bike to be hand made in the Czech Republic. The German company adds that the Czech production facility is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and staffed by experienced frame builders. Relocation to Europe is also a step towards a more sustainable business model for Standert, shortening supply chains and working in accordance with EU environmental regulations.

Standert founder Max Von Senger said “We are incredibly proud to introduce the newly updated Pfadfinder. We took what was great about the Pfadfinder and meticulously improved every little detail to create a bike that excels in performance, comfort and reliability.

“By relocating our manufacturing to Europe, we ensure that the Pfadfinder not only meets but exceeds the highest standards of quality and sustainability. If you don’t want to have a specific road bike or a specific gravel bike, the Pfadfinder is the perfect bike for you.”
