The second round of the 2024 Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) Gives Back Grant program is open for applications from today, August 5, 2024, with applications open to August 19.
The B.A.A. Gives Back Grants launched in 2023, with 32 organizations in Massachusetts having benefited since its inception. To date, the program has awarded US$400,000 state-wide to non-profits that advance the B.A.A.’s mission of promoting a healthy lifestyle through sports, especially running.
Scott Stover, Chief Marketing Officer at the B.A.A., said, “Our application process is open for the second round of grants this year, and we are looking forward to receiving interest from organizations across Massachusetts who do valuable work in health and wellness programming.
“The B.A.A. strives to support new and current partners with their community efforts to advance our mission, and the impact we can all have by working together is immense.”
Grants from US$5,000-$15,000 are available to eligible organisations.
The competitive application process is open to all nonprofit organizations that meet the following criteria:
- Organisation is a registered 501(c)(3) or a public agency
- Organisation is not political
- The organisation’s program advances the B.A.A.’s mission of promoting a healthy lifestyle through sports, especially running, in order to build healthy communities
- The organisation is located in and serves residents of Massachusetts
Organisations are eligible to receive funding once per calendar year. Unsuccessful applicants who meet the criteria are encouraged to apply again in future rounds.
Established in 1887, the Boston Athletic Association is a non-profit organisation with a mission of promoting a healthy lifestyle through sports, especially running. The B.A.A. manages the Boston Marathon, and supports comprehensive charity, youth, and year-round programming.
The Boston Marathon is part of the Abbott World Marathon Majors, along with international marathons in Tokyo, London, Berlin, Chicago, and New York City. The 129th Boston Marathon presented by Bank of America is scheduled to take place on Monday, April 21, 2025.
