Rapha has presented its newest Rapha20 special edition, as part of its 20th anniversary celebrations. Designed in collaboration with Amsterdam-based textile innovator BYBORRE, Rapha has released a contemporary gilet design with a two-way zip, side pockets and a chest pocket for on and off the bike.
Constructed with a BYBORRE knitted textile, the gilet uses a blend of recycled man-made fibres and merino wool.
Woven into the dark grey colourway is a quote from Rapha founder, Simon Mottram, which reads: “The ultimate performance and style with no compromise on either”, a principle on which Rapha was founded, back in 2004.
“Our collaboration with Rapha goes way back, and I’m excited that we were able to come together again to create something truly innovative,” said Borre Akkersdijk, Founder of BYBORRE.
“Through our digital platform, Rapha had access to our transparent textile supply chain, allowing them to create custom textiles that align with their vision while making conscious decisions throughout the design process.”
Established in 2015, BYBORRE pioneers responsible textile creation and production methods through digital innovation. It aims to explore new creation processes that are less wasteful, less harmful and less rigid.
The 20th anniversary collection is available to Rapha Cycling Club members, online on rapha.cc, and at select Rapha Clubhouses (Amsterdam and London). The gilet retails at £200 and is available in two colourways.
