British Triathlon appoints Amy Hall and Gareth May to executive leadership team

British Triathlon has announced two new appointments to its executive leadership team, with Amy Hall named Director of Community & Sport Development, and Gareth May joining as Director of Commercial & Brand Partnerships.

Amy Hall steps into the role officially in May, having held the position on an interim basis since March. Her appointment follows a competitive recruitment process. She first joined British Triathlon in 2017 as Participation Manager and has since held roles including Head of Children & Young People and, more recently, Head of Participation.

“I was initially drawn to British Triathlon for its dynamic, fresh-thinking environment and the exciting potential of the sport to change lives at every level of participation,” said Amy Hall.

“I’m looking forward to building on my experience, leading a team that I already know has so much potential, strengthening sector relationships, and driving the continued success and impact of swim, bike, run and triathlon.”

Gareth May will join in June from Paddle UK, where he served as Business Development & Commercial Manager. During his time there, he led a commercial transformation that included over 40 brand partnerships, such as a teamwear deal with Hummel and a title partnership with Gill for the ‘Go Paddling’ initiative. May is also the inaugural Chair of the National Governing Body Commercial Forum.

“I’m absolutely delighted to be joining British Triathlon at such an exciting time for the sport,” said Gareth May. “I’m genuinely excited about the opportunities that lie ahead… to drive even greater commercial growth as we build towards LA2028.”

British Triathlon Chief Executive Ruth Daniels stated that the appointments are a key step in strengthening the organisation’s leadership as it looks ahead to future growth.

“Gareth’s appointment marks a significant step forward in our ambition to grow the brand and the reach of our sport, enhance stakeholder engagement, and drive sustainable commercial success,” said Daniels.

“And I am delighted to see Amy continue to flourish in her career with us. She has consistently impressed… It was truly a pleasure to offer her this role.”

British Triathlon added that the two appointments form part of a wider strategy to evolve its executive team and ensure the governing body is fit for the future.
