World Triathlon and the Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO) have announced the cancellation of the World Triathlon Cup Valencia, originally scheduled for September 20, 2025. The T100 Valencia event, also scheduled for the same weekend… ‘will be relocated to a different location.’
In a release, World Triathlon noted… ‘The cancellation of the event is due to a series of circumstances that have created various uncertainties, preventing us from guaranteeing the proper development of the competition according to the high standards it has maintained in recent years.
‘Despite the efforts made in recent weeks, it has not been possible to confirm all essential elements for its correct execution with the necessary advance notice. It is in the interest of all institutions to return to organizing the World Cup in the future, meeting the maximum demands and level that Valencia has had until now.
‘World Triathlon recognises the disappointment this cancellation will cause for athletes, fans, and the local community. Every effort was made to find an alternative solution, but unfortunately, it proved impossible to secure a viable venue within Valencia on the scheduled date.
‘While the World Triathlon Cup will not proceed, the T100 Pro races will be relocated to a different location – further details regarding the new venue for the T100 event will be announced soon. World Triathlon and PTO are working together with the Spanish Federation on this contingency and will provide updates as soon as they are available.’
Part of the T100 World Tour, the Valencia T100 event would have seen PTO’s top 20 male and top 20 female ranked triathletes go head-to-head over the 100km distance (2km swim, 80km bike, 18km run) as part of a season-long schedule that will culminate in the Qatar T100 Triathlon World Championship Final.
