Indoor cycling app ROUVY has launched the full IRONMAN World Championship course in Nice, France, on its platform.
Both participating triathletes and everyday enthusiasts can experience the challenging, scenic 180km route – as well as experience an exclusive climbing workout from elite triathlete Sam Long.
Earlier this year ROUVY officially entered a long-term partnership with IRONMAN, offering athletes a unique opportunity to train on the roads they’ll race. The one loop, 180km course in Nice features 2500m of elevation gain with a maximum gradient of 20%.
Regarded as one of the most scenic, yet demanding routes on the IRONMAN circuit, the picturesque course takes athletes through villages on the Parc Naturel des Pré-Alpes d’Azur before returning to the city of Nice on the French Riviera.
With the support of ROUVY’s technology and on-site team, the IRONMAN World Championship Course was captured during this year’s IRONMAN France event. The virtual route reflects the real event in detail, including official timing mat placements, aid stations, and penalty zones.
Offering athletes a preview of race day, for those who want to experience the course without tackling the full distance, a shorter option is also available. This version features the complete ascent of the Col de Vence, starting right from the Promenade des Anglais.
The latest feature now available on the ROUVY app is the exclusive Sam Long Climbing Threshold Session. The one hour workout targets threshold intervals to help prepare the body and mind, aimed at preparation for tackling the elevation and demands of the Nice course.
