Rudy Project, the Italian sports accessories brand, has introduced its new Sinergy helmet. The product is designed with a single-material construction, with the goal of being easily disassembled and recycled at the end of its life.
The helmet is made with over 60% recyclable materials. The outer shell and the internal protective layer are both made of polystyrene (PS) and expanded polystyrene (EPS). According to the company, this single-material choice simplifies disposal and recycling.
The Sinergy helmet weighs 250g in size M and is intended for a range of uses, from road cycling to urban commuting.
Simone Barbazza, Sustainability Manager at Rudy Project, said “With Sinergy we want to demonstrate that innovation and sustainability are not separate concepts, but part of a single vision that looks to the future of sport and the planet. We have invested in research and development to rethink not only the helmet’s design but the entire product life cycle.”
The helmet features:
- A modern design with 11 ventilation channels.
- Removable and washable inner pads for a hygienic fit.
- An RSR adjustment system that allows for a customisable vertical and horizontal position.
The Sinergy helmet is part of Rudy Project’s Ride To Zero commitment, which aims to reduce the environmental impact of its products.
The helmet will be available in two sizes (S/M and L) and six colour options. It is priced at £59.00 (€69.90). Availability is expected this month.
