Blue 2011 Axino Carbon Road

Blue Competition Cycles continues to work hard on its 2011 bike range. With the completion of the development of the company’s Norcross range of cross bikes, Blue’s product development guys have been focusing hard to bring to fruition the new Blue 2011 carbon road bike.

The RC range of bikes have been around since the beginning of Blue and the company has ‘learned a lot since the first RC4 was developed, and we are definitely sad to see the most recent incarnation of that line of bikes, the RC8, leave our range.’

According to Blue’s latest release, ‘our sadness to see the RC8 leave is only exceeded by the pure joy of the birth of our brand new road bike model, named the Axino. The development of the Axino has taken a lot of what we learned in the development of the 2010 Norcross and the 2010 AC1 and applied it to make a very stiff and light road racing machine.’

The introduction of Blue’s Direct Drive technology, using a one piece bottom bracket/chainstay unit for increased drivetrain stiffness and the use of a one piece top tube, head tube and main tube with a 1 1/8" to 1 1/2" tapered headset has allowed the company to make a bike that is ‘unbelievably stiff, while also maintaining a super low weight.’
