London 2012 Triathlon Services Manager

For those interested in, arguably, the opportunity of a lifetime, the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) is seeking a Triathlon Services Manager to lead the day to day project management of the triathlon event at the 2012 Olympic Games.

The Triathlon Services Manager will be responsible for the planning, organisation, management and administration functions of the tri events at the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.

The role is with within the Triathlon Event Management team, which has a wide range of responsibilities including the planning and organisation of the triathlon competition, providing sports specific input into the briefs for venue design and functional area planning, identification of training venues, test event planning and the development of the competition schedule.

Work closely with the Triathlon Manager, key responsibilities/accountabilities for the Triathlon Services Manager role include:

• Athlete services, sport information, international federation and staff services
• Identification, recruitment and training of the triathlon sport specific volunteers
• Selection and training of National Technical Officials
• Day to day project management of operational issues for triathlon

The successful candidate would ideally have knowledge of ITU technical requirements, excellent administration and project management skills, proven event management experience and the ability to manage multiple projects.
