Xterra Wetsuits raises its game in 2011

Xterra Wetsuits has ramped up its promotional activity in recent weeks. It has seen Belgian Ironman triathlete Marino Vanhoenacker join up with the company and become an official sponsored triathlete for 2011.

This year, Xterra Wetsuits began expanding its operations to Europe and Canada. A launch in the UK sees the company go head to head with a number of major wetsuit brands in particular.

It is clear that sponsorships will form a key component of the company’s marketing mix.

“With our new international presence, we look forward to sponsoring more exceptional triathletes like Vanhoenacker,” said Brian Walters, President of Xterra Wetsuits.

“We’re honoured to sponsor an athlete of Vanhoenacker’s skill and calibre, and we’re excited to have him swim in the Vendetta, the industry’s leading wetsuit,” added CEO Glynn Turquand.

The Vanhoenacker sponsorship deal comes hot on the heels of Xterra Wetsuits’ sponsorship of a number of events and triathlon initiatives in 2011.

Sponsored events include the 2011 Omaha Womens Triathlon.

For the 2011 season Xterra Wetsuits has also renewed its sponsorship of the Amica 19.7 Triathlon Series. Registration for the first event, The Amica TexasMan Triathlon is open and understood to be filling fast!

Meanwhile, the company is proud to be the Official Wetsuit of the Columbia Triathlon Association (CTA), which CTA offers races from sprint distance all the way to the ChesapeakeMan Ultra distance event on 24 September 2011. All CTA races benefit local and regional charities.

Finally, race organiser TBF Racing (which organises a number of events in Northern California) has teamed up again with Xterra Wetsuits for the 2011 season.
