Organisers of the Triathlon Summit have unveiled a free one hour event series, featuring 13 triathlon experts to help triathletes reach their peak performance. With its first free event held on 2 December, the Triathlon Summit series is intended to help athletes re-ignite their resolve for reaching their triathlon goals in 2009 and beyond.
"The reasons for not hitting one’s triathlon goals vary but the right knowledge and persistence can do a lot to unlock your performance," said Kerry Sullivan, triathlon training expert and organiser of the Triathlon Summit. "And, because some goals can seem overwhelming, people also need more targeted guidance."
Triathletes can listen to one or all of the sessions from the comfort and privacy of their own home. The Triathlon Summit recognises that not everybody has the luxury of attending triathlon training camps around the world or seeking out personal coaching. The Triathlon Summit brings together triathlon training related experts from such diverse disciplines as sports psychology, strength training, nutrition, swimming, cycling, running and triathlon. It will be presented over the course of 13 weeks as one-hour ‘teleseminars’, or call-in sessions where participants listen to experts share their secrets.
The first session features sports psychologist Dr Patrick Cohn. Other calls will include: Danny Dreyer, author of ChiRunning; Terry Laughlin founder of Total Immersion Swimming; Cliff English who coaches some of the world’s best elite triathletes; Hunter Allen who literally wrote the book on training and racing with a power meter on the bike; professional triathlete and 5 time Ironman winner Heather Gollnick; and JC Santana, a strength and conditioning coach.
