Dubai triathlon training camp

Triathlon is building further momentum in the Middle East, with 2008 Ironman World Champion Craig Alexander visiting Dubai to deliver a training camp from Thursday 26th to Saturday 28th March.

The special training camp is being held in conjunction with Tri2Aspire (T2A), the UAE’s leading triathlon team and specialists in executive and VIP health and triathlon coaching. T2A is managed by Australian Jason Metters, a Triathlon Coach and Personal Fitness Advisor.

The 2009 training camp will be held at the Westin hotel in Dubai and is open to all residents in the UAE aged 18 and above, with places limited to 30. The camp will include open water swim training, bike time trials, chats on nutrition and race strategy and a sprint distance triathlon to wrap up the weekend.

Despite economic challenges facing Dubai, and the ex pat community in particular, the Tri2Aspire training camp, and presence of Craig Alexander, is helping to reinforce the importance of triathlon in the region and its role in bolstering health and wellbeing in these stressful times.

Having won the iconic Ironman World Championships in Hawaii in October 2008, Alexander added to his status as the most decorated triathlete in the world. With nearly a decade of racing experience, he is also eight-time Australian National Champion. March 2009 will be his first visit to the UAE and the action packed weekend, run by Tri2Aspire, offers a unique opportunity to train, chat and race with the champion.
