Ironman champ Belinda Granger to ride Ceepo

Belinda Granger, an 11-time Ironman and Ironman distance champion will make her debut on a Ceepo Venom at Ironman 70.3 Hawaii. Joining her in the switch to Ceepo is husband and training partner, Justin Granger. He will be riding the newly released Ceepo Katana at the Hawaii event.

“I am extremely excited to announce my new partnership with Ceepo,” Granger said. “What has impressed me most about Ceepo is the fact that their bikes are pure triathlon bikes, developed entirely by triathletes for triathletes. The range of Ceepo frames are designed specifically for the demands of my sport, Ironman! Riding is not only my weapon in Ironman racing, but also my passion. It is essential for me to have a bike that not only fits me perfectly, but also feels good to ride. This enables me to be the best and fastest that I can be. Ceepo ticks all of these boxes for us.”

Nobuyuki Tanaka of Japan, a renowned Japanese age group triathlete and founder of Ceepo bikes, conceived the idea for the company as he raced in Ironman-distance triathlons and the Ford Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii. Tanaka wanted to develop a super fast bike that would be designed for the demands of triathlon. In 2003 he decided to create a triathlon bike that would be manufactured entirely to his specifications. Just five years later Ceepo bikes has gone from concept, to full production and introduction to the Asia-Pacific market, to the official bicycle of Ironman.

“When I decided to design and manufacture a triathlon bike, I was determined for it to be of the highest quality, as that is what I desire in my own bike,” said Tanaka. “Unlike many of our competitors, Ceepo’s product managers, designers, and distributors are triathletes themselves. Ceepo is not a road bike company that simply markets one of their bike models to triathletes. Unlike some other bike companies, our employees actually ride and race to ensure Ceepo bikes meet and exceed the demands of real world racing conditions.”

Tanaka added that “Ceepo applies proven aerodynamic principles in innovative designs to produce state-of-the-art triathlon racing machines. The bikes use the highest grade carbon fibre material available on the market and, while a very select few of our competitors are able to match Ceepo’s super high-quality materials, most do not and cut corners and costs by using cheaper mixtures of carbon fibre grades, resulting in bikes that are neither light nor stiff.”

Tanaka concluded, “I am very happy to have athletes the calibre of Belinda and Justin racing on Ceepo bikes. Belinda has proved she is one of the fastest female cyclists in the sport today and I hope now she is aboard a Ceepo bike she can ride even faster! With 11 Ironman Distance victories and 24 podiums at Ironman Distance in her career, not to mention a personal best 180km bike split of 4hrs 50 minutes, Belinda is definitely an exciting athlete to have riding our bikes. Both Belinda and Justin are very approachable and well liked people in the triathlon community making them the perfect ambassadors for Ceepo,”
