Marie Curie Cancer Care has been announced as the charity partner of the Dextro Energy Triathlon ITU World Championship in London – and ballots for entry have just opened.
Taking place in London’s Hyde Park, the event will see contestants swimming the Serpentine before taking on a cycling and running course in and around the park’s most scenic areas.
The men’s and women’s elite races will be held on 15 August, while the general public will get their chance on 16 August.
London Mayor Boris Johnson said, “Bringing the ITU World Championship Series to London is an excellent idea and an opportunity to establish Hyde Park as one of our key Olympic venues.
“The World Championship Series will showcase electrifying sporting action against an unrivalled central London backdrop.
“Londoners and visitors alike will see some of the world´s best athletes compete in the heart of London.”
