Following a successful partnership in 2008, Suunto, will serve as the official timing and data partner for the Dextro Energy Triathlon – ITU World Championship Series.
In 2008, Suunto was chosen by triathlon’s governing body, the International Triathlon Union (ITU), as the 2008 BG Triathlon World Championships’ Official Timekeeper. Finnish company Suunto manufactures equipment for athletes and divers such as watches, compasses, and wrist-worn computers. The brand was also recently honoured as an accompaniment to an active lifestyle when it took home the Gearzy Award from Outdoorzy.com.
The recent extension of its partnership with triathlon, puts Suunto firmly up against heart rate monitor and wristwear players such as Polar, Timex and Garmin – which have likewise been keenly tying up with all things triathlon.
The inaugural, eight-event Dextro Energy Triathlon – ITU World Championship Series begins on 9 May 2009 in Singapore. It is being organised by the ITU and its commercial partners SPORTFIVE and Upsolut, both brands of the Lagard
