Amer Sports sells industrial site in Rumilly, France

Mavic and Suunto brand owner Amer Sports has today divested an unused manufacturing site in Rumilly, France. With a total value of €8 million, and a capital gain of €7.4 million, the transaction will be reported in Amer Sports’ fourth quarter accounts as a non-recurring item.

The purchaser of the site is the French group Ecologgia, which is planning to construct an innovative industrial centre specialising in wood technology.

Amer Sports ceased production of skis, bindings and cycling components at the Rumilly facility at the end of 2008. This was part of measures to improve efficiency in the company’s Winter Sports Equipment business.

From 2009, the ski manufacturing was relocated to Amer Sports’ factories in Austria and Bulgaria, and the production of cycling components was transferred to Annecy in France.
