Leaders at Bolton town hall are reportedly striving to retain Ironman UK after 2011. The initial three-year contract between the local authority and the event organisers is due to come to an end after the 2011 event – due to take place on 31 July.
Local councillor Ismail Ibrahim said “We will, of course, make every effort to continue hosting the event. Everything is down to financial commitments and the other options available to the organisers across the country.”
