Eident Sports has confirmed that a date has been set for the 2011 Amica 19.7 Newport. The second annual sprint triathlon will be held on Saturday 24 September 2011, on Aquidneck Island.
The Amica 19.7 Newport is part of the 2011 Amica 19.7 Triathlon Series, a sprint distance series of triathlons held throughout the US.
Eident Sports has planned a few changes for athletes who participate in the 2011 Amica 19.7 Newport. The half-mile swim leg has been moved to Third Beach, to take advantage of the calm waters off of the Sakonnet River.
Meanwhile, the 16.1-mile bike leg will travel through the scenic neighbourhoods of Middletown and Portsmouth. And the 3.1-mile run will feature a sprint to the finish at Sachuest Beach.
Nearly 430 participants competed in the inaugural Amica 19.7 Newport this past autumn/fall, under bright sunny skies at Second Beach in Middletown.
