The Williamsburg Hotel & Motel Association (WHMA) will sponsor the Patriots Triathlon Weekend for the weekend of 10-11 September 2011. Registration for the event begins early in the New Year on 5 January.
“We are thrilled with our new partner, the Williamsburg Hotel & Motel Association, serving as the Patriots Weekend Presenting Sponsor,” said Race Director Greg Hawkins.
“This event is a true partnership between Set Up Events and James City County, which has been on board with the event since inception, and now the Williamsburg Hotel & Motel Association and the Greater Williamsburg Tourist Information Center.”
Participants will compete on 10 September in a half-iron distance triathlon with a 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike leg and 13.1-mile run. On 11 September, athletes will compete in a sprint triathlon, beginning with a 750m swim in the James River, followed by a 12-mile ride along Route 5, and finishing with a 5K run.
