Ironman France 2011 has a maximum limit of 2,500 athletes for the event starting on 26 June 2011 on the Baie des Anges. With 2,000 competitors now already signed up, only 500 entries remain for the seventh edition of the prestigious French Triathlon; and these are selling at a pace!
According to the organisers of Ironman France 2011, ‘the curve for registration is in constant growth since 2007 and the race fills up earlier and earlier in the year.’
Meanwhile, reflecting the wide international popularity of the event, the balance between French and overseas competitors is around 50:50. Taking the top five, of the total of 48 nations represented, France is followed by the United Kingdom, Spain, the United States and Belgium.
New for 2011, an Irongirl (5K women-only run) race will take place during the bike leg of the main Ironman event on Sunday 26 June. This female only race will feature just after the IronKids event on the same day.
