British Triathlon is pleased to announce that voting for the coveted British Triathlon Annual Awards is now open. Voting is only available for Home Nation members, via www.britishtriathlon.org/awards, and closes on 10 October 2011.
The successful award winners will be celebrated at the 2011 British Triathlon Annual Awards Dinner set to take place on Saturday 12 November at the 4* Barceló Hinckley Island Hotel.
The flagship event celebrates the achievements of Great Britain’s world class elite athletes, paratriathletes and age group triathletes, recognising the outstanding contribution made by officials, volunteers, coaches, clubs and event organisers to the fast growing, dynamic and modern Olympic sport of triathlon.
The event welcomes outstanding elite, age group and paratriathletes – many of whom are now World and European Champions. In their company, guests can enjoy an evening celebrating the most memorable moments of 2011 with over 300 expected to attend.
Last year’s, Leigh Day & Co, Volunteer of the Year, Karen Ayers commented “I thoroughly enjoyed last year’s Awards Dinner. It was really exciting to win, not only the Leigh Day and Co, Volunteer of the Year as an individual, but also the Triathlete’s World Event of the Year on behalf of Crystal Palace Triathlon. To be acknowledged and cheered along with the elite athletes was amazing. It was also a great opportunity to meet the Brownlee brothers, Helen Jenkins and other top athletes from our sport.”
