Active.com Schwaggle delivers exclusive sports and fitness offers

Leading active sports online community Active.com, a media property of Active Network, has launched Active.com Schwaggle, a deal-of-the-day program offering exclusive deals on fitness-related products and services for the active consumer.

Presenting offers three times a week, Active.com Schwaggle kicked off on 11 January in the San Francisco Bay area with deals from the following popular local and national brands and events:

Bay to Breakers – discounted registration for one of the world’s largest and most iconic footraces, the 100-year old San Francisco Bay to Breakers 12K

PacWest Athletics – named Best Boot Camp in NorCal by Competitor Magazine, PacWest presents discounted slots to its exclusive Wildflower Tri Training Camp

FuelBelt – discounts on hydration belts and accessories; FuelBelt is used by multiple Ironman and marathon champions including champion Chris McCormack at the 2010 Ironman World Championships

In addition to launching in the San Francisco Bay area, Active.com expects to roll out Schwaggle in Los Angeles, New York and Chicago in Q1 2011, with 20 markets to be launched by the end of the year.

"Active.com Schwaggle is extremely focused on quality and relevant deals that match the active lifestyle of our subscribers," said Brian Enge, Vice President, Strategic Projects at Active Network.

"And unlike others on the market, Active.com already has tens of thousands of consumers in the San Francisco Bay area alone interested in getting these types of deals."

In addition to offering deals on sports and fitness products and services, Active.com Schwaggle will focus on a wide range of discounted registration on endurance events and discounted golf tee times.

Active Network provides online registration for thousands of events, and registration numbers show that on average less than 10% of endurance events sell out. Active.com Schwaggle will be another valuable service to help event organizers increase participation in their races. In the future, the program expects to expand to community events, camps and more.

"Bay to Breakers has been partners with Active Network for over a decade and we are excited to be the first Active.com Schwaggle offering," said Angela Fang, General Manager of Bay to Breakers. "We are excited to offer discounted registration for a select number of participants in celebration of the 100th running of the Bay to Breakers footrace."

Individuals interested in registering for Active.com Schwaggle can go to schwaggle.active.com and choose to receive their exclusive deals by email or access them on Facebook to reduce inbox overload.
