Black is the new RED for SRAM

With commercial availability from March 2011, and pricing to be confirmed, SRAM RED is turning black in the latest colour option for SRAM’s top-end groupset.

The Black RED groupset from SRAM builds on the success of the Limited Tour Edition (LTE) Yellow version of SRAM RED.

According to the groupset manufacturer, with market trends focused on product customization, SRAM Black RED offers another choice to consumers and retail customers.

The Black RED groupset adds an elegant black finish (rear derailleur, front derailleur and brakes), while the modern silver graphics are maintained. According to SRAM, this new colour option matches perfectly with all framesets on the market.

The groupset includes shifters, rear and front derailleurs, brakes, cassette (same as the LTE, with an 11-28 teeth option), crankset with black anodized rings, ceramic bottom bracket and chain.

A number of of SRAM’s top road and tri athletes are expected to be racing on Black RED in the 2011 racing season.

Features and benefits stay the same as the original SRAM RED, as it remains ‘the world’s lightest gruppo’, approaching 1800g in the BB30 version.
