I Am Athlete LLC, the event registration services company and multisport community specialist, has announced the addition of former Fandango CEO and EVP of Comcast Interactive Media, Chuck Davis, to its Board of Advisors. Ecommerce veteran Davis joins the company’s Advisory Board at a time of rapid growth for imATHLETE.
Chuck Davis brings considerable experience growing transactional-based businesses, identifying new revenue streams and optimizing ecommerce platforms. Prior to Fandango, he was President and CEO of Shopzilla Inc, formerly BizRate.com, and is credited with shifting the way retailers market online to build one of the largest and most profitable Internet shopping sites, which sold for US$569 million.
While at Fandango, a leading movie and entertainment destination, Davis generated significant shareholder value as CEO, overseeing acquisitions of Movies.com and DailyCandy and increasing the site’s user base and content offering. Davis was recently named the 2012-2013 International Chairman of YPO (Young President’s Organization).

As an advisor, Davis will help the executive team shape and execute the long-term vision, assist with identifying strategic development opportunities and establishing complementary partnerships, and offer advice on company tactics and directives. He will also be instrumental in supporting future fundraising efforts. ‘Operating in the black’, imATHLETE’s upward trajectory has led the company to profitability just thirteen months after launch, with less than US$400,000 in initial capital raised.

Davis joins other veteran advisory board members including Mark Donovan, founding executive of Viva.com (dba Rent.com) and founder of Karmist, a stealth-mode behavioral marketing venture; and Mike Schoettle, 3x member of the US Olympic Sailing team and former VP of US Sailing. Donovan provides ongoing strategic direction and high level operational support for the company, and helps facilitate acquisition and strategic partner opportunities. Both Donovan and Schoettle have been actively involved with imATHLETE since 2009.
