The Eurobike Awards program is due to be held for the seventh time this year, and the deadline for award applications is 25 July 2011.
The international cycling industry can now enter online to win the coveted award. Once again, a particularly environmentally friendly product will also be honoured with the Eurobike Green Award.
The Eurobike Awards program will once again be hosted by Messe Friedrichshafen and organized by iF International Forum Design GmbH, Hannover, during the international bicycle show Eurobike 2011 (31 August to 3 September).
Manufacturers, designers and engineers are invited to enter their innovative products online up until 25 July 2011. The special award, the Eurobike Green Award, will be presented for the fourth time to one product that is particularly environmentally compatible and sustainable.
Entries in the competition are being accepted in 17 categories:

According to the organisers, because good quality, innovation and functionality are important features in the bicycle market, consumers have welcomed the award’s seal of quality. ‘The Eurobike Award provides an endorsement, helping consumers to orientate in a large diverse market. Meanwhile, suppliers profit from a very successful marketing instrument.’
This year, the jury of experts will include: Nils Holger Moormann (Designer, Aschau am Chiemsee/Germany), Hans-Heinrich Pardey (Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Frankfurt am Main/Germany), Jack Oortwijn (Bike Europe & Tweewieler, Amsterdam/Netherlands), Ulrike Saade (Velokonzept Saade GmbH, Berlin/Germany), Peter Feld (Fahrrad XXL Feld GmbH, Sankt Augustin/Germany) and Dirk Zedler (Institut für Fahrradtechnik und -Sicherheit GmbH, Ludwigsburg/Germany).
All judging will take place in Hannover on 16-17 August. The Gold award winners – seen as the most innovative entries in 2011 Eurobike Awards – will then be selected from amongst all the award winners.
The EUROBIKE Awards Ceremony is scheduled to take place in Friedrichshafen on 31 August at 18:00 local time on the fashion stage in Foyer East. All the award-winning products will be on display in Foyer West during the EUROBIKE show from 31 August to 3 September 2011.
