Gryphon Technologies backs Nation’s Triathlon Military Challenge

The Nation’s Triathlon has announced today that Gryphon Technologies has signed on as the presenting sponsor for the 4th Annual Nation’s Triathlon Military Challenge. Registration has been extended for both active duty and veteran members of the US military until July 31, 2011 to accommodate troops returning from Afghanistan as part of the planned July 2011 drawdown. General registration for the Nation’s Triathlon is already sold out.

The Nation’s Triathlon Gryphon Technologies Military Challenge will take place on Sunday, September 11, 2011, on the 10th anniversary of the 9-11 terrorist attacks. The race features an Olympic/International distance course that includes a 1.5K swim in the Potomac River, 40K bike course through downtown DC, and a 10K run along Washington, DC’s monumental corridor.

To date, nearly 500 military competitors have signed up, and space is limited.

Gryphon Technologies provides support for new technology and advanced mission critical systems for the US Department of Defense around the world. In addition to its sponsorship of the Military Challenge, Gryphon Technologies also plans to honour the commitment of America’s service members by fielding a Gryphon Technologies relay team for the race, with more than a dozen Gryphon employees competing side by side with active duty and veteran military personnel.

“Every employee at Gryphon Technologies wants the military community to know that we are humbled and proud to support them as sponsor of the 4th Annual Military Challenge,” said CEO and founder P.J. Braden. “We applaud your accomplishments, achievements, and courage as warriors and as participants in the Nation’s Triathlon.”

According to Molly Quinn, owner of The Nation’s Triathlon, “As we mark the 10th anniversary of the devastating attacks on our nation that took place on 9-11, we will pay special tribute to the military who have led the fight against Al Qaeda. We thank Gryphon Technologies for joining us in honouring the sacrifice, dedication and commitment of the men and women who serve in defence of our nation.”

Active duty and veteran military personnel can compete in the Military Challenge as singles or as teams. The top military competitors and teams will be recognized at the conclusion of the race in their own category.
