Charting the rise of open water swimming globally, a recent video post by OpenWaterSource.com notes that there are ‘over 900 annual open water races in America’ alone – with around 4000 races taking place across the globe.
There are an estimated 16 million open water swimmers worldwide across 87 different countries.
