Industry association Triathlon America has posted a new position for an intern. The role runs from 11 May 2011 to 12 March 2012. At 3 to 5 days per week, paying US$10 per hour, with flexibility on days and shifts – this is a great position for any intern interested in gaining experience in the field of triathlon.
This candidate will work closely with Triathlon America General Manager Paul Banta and President of Pacific Sports Jack Caress.
Primary responsibilities:
• Collect information from members for communication pieces
• Update information on website (small updates, no HTML knowledge needed, but beneficial)
• Recruit new members – identify potential members and participate in outreach
• Maintain membership and potential membership databases
• Great use of Excel spreadsheets, Google Docs, Mailchimp
• Fulfil membership benefits
• Prepare for organization’s meetings including the annual Triathlon America conference
• Develop media database for distribution of organization and member media releases
• Write press releases to distribute to Media Outreach
• Provide monthly updates to members regarding: New Member News, Meetings, Current Member News (races, deals, etc…), etc.
• Manage and attend Triathlon America’s GearCamp at Bike DealerCamp, Board Meetings and any other necessary meetings
Additional information:
• Must have own laptop
• Preferred Degrees: Marketing, Media Relations, Sports Management, Management, Sales
• Someone who knows how to communicate to Owners/CEOs of companies
• Able to make cold calls, outreach to people
• Able to work in a small business atmosphere
• Great communication skills and customer service skills
• Familiar with the triathlon industry
