Okole Stuff Chamois Ointment’s Spanish distributor – Bicibike – has signed World Champ Jose Antonio Hermida to ride and promote the long-lasting chamois ointment he used to secure the World Mountain Bike title.
The Multivan-Merida rider used Okole Stuff (pr. oh-ko-lay) for the entire 2010 season. After riding with an informal agreement, Okole Stuff distributor Bicibike has now partnered with the rider to create a ‘stronger promotional arrangement’.
The Andalusia Bike Race in late February was sponsored by Okole Stuff and Squirt Lube, bringing Bicibike officers Sergi Moreno and Eduardo Aguilera to the race. This was the perfect opportunity to formalize details of the arrangement with Hermida, and make it official.
The contract was signed in Hermida’s hotel, minutes before leaving for the start of the second stage. To celebrate, Bicibike provided free Okole Stuff and Squirt Lube samples to all participants!
"Hermida is a good friend of our business and loves the product, which makes reaching an agreement to use his image very simple," said Sergi Moreno from Bicibike.
“In 2010, Jose was amazed with the smooth performance of the chamois ointment and its durability. Okole Stuff is an ideal product for stage races and long-term training as its paraffin base makes it very resistant to sweat and marathon sessions on the bike.
“The feedback we received from riders who did not know the product and are using it in this race is surprise and absolute conviction."
Bicibike and Okole Stuff stress that the chamois ointment is a product intended for all cyclists: those who train hard for hours and push the limits of endurance and those that ride once or twice a week and need to keep things smooth under the saddle!
Okole Stuff has soothing and long-lasting ingredients that include lanolin, allantoin, tea tree oil and aloe to help heal your skin and keep you riding longer.
Okole Stuff is currently distributed by BTI and KHS in the United States, and in Spain, Germany, Australia and the UK.
