VITA Products Inc, which markets an identification and contactless payment platform, is supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) New York City Chapter of Team in Training (TNT) with a donation of 4,000 VITAbands.
“Team In Training is known for providing participants with professional and personalized training for endurance events in exchange for fundraising for blood cancer research,” commented Michele Przypyszny, Executive Director of LLS’s New York City Chapter. “Now with the VITAband partnership, we can also provide our participants with the forefront in safety technology.”
The VITAband has an embedded micro-chip that enables contactless transactions at thousands of retailers across the US, with the simple wave of the wrist at point of sale terminals equipped with contactless functionality. VITAband users establish a prepaid account that is enabled by Visa’s contactless payment technology, Visa payWave.
The VITAband is also an identification bracelet providing emergency responders and medical professionals with critical personal information in the event of an emergency – identification, relevant medical history and emergency contacts. This ensures the wearer receives the care he or she needs in the event of an emergency.
