AlterG Europe in pan-European media push with Henman Communications

Sports and healthcare specialist PR agency Henman Communications has been retained by Anti-Gravity Treadmill manufacturer AlterG Europe, to manage its pan European PR programme for a 12 month period.

AlterG based in Fremont, California, manufactures and distributes the world’s first and only Anti-Gravity Treadmill. AlterG’s unique anti-gravity technology was originally developed at NASA and tested at Nike’s Oregon Research Project by leading distance runners in the US.

The AlterG is said to be the only device of its kind. The treadmill uses ‘differential air pressure that can un-weight up to 80% of a person’s body weight’, allowing for stable support in rehabilition from injury.

Andrew Caudell, General Manager for AlterG Europe said, “We are delighted to be working with the team at Henman Communications to help us build our profile in the key UK and European media. Henman Communications are also retained by one of our UK partners Balance Performance Physiotherapy so they have specialist PR experience and contacts in the sports rehabilitation, performance and physiotherapy sectors.”

The Alter-G Treadmill can be used for physical therapy, surgical recovery and elder healthcare and maintenance. The treadmills are also used by a large number of elite athletes at Premiership football and rugby clubs in the UK and Europe, Olympic distance runners, US athletic programs for NFL, MLB and NBA teams, collegiate and University sports programs and the US Olympic Training Centre.

AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmills enable faster rehabilitation, safer conditioning for the geriatric population, and weight loss, which can help remove major obstacles associated with these activities. Impact on the body and the pain of recovery are reduced, which helps people achieve better results.

AlterG Europe has built up a reputation in the sports, healthcare and medical markets, having successfully sold the Anti-Gravity Treadmill into sixteen out of the twenty Premiership football clubs, including Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool in the UK, as well as clubs abroad such as Real Madrid and Bayern Munich in Europe and several leading Premiership rugby clubs as well. Other customers include health & leisure club operators, private hospital groups, military rehabilitation units, sport physiotherapists, personal trainers and sports coaches.”

AlterG Europe’s Caudell added, “I am very excited about this year. Our PR initiatives will create media-driven editorial articles to support our key sales distribution territories across Europe, including the UK, Ireland and Germany.”

Henman Communications services will incorporate press office activity, and create specific video testimonial content from some of the leading Premiership clubs and elite athletes using the AlterG treadmills for rehabilitation. Henman Communications will also manage key stakeholders including sports physios, medical teams, distributors and partners and target leading health, medical, sports and lifestyle media across print, online and social media channels. Henman Communications will also advise on crisis management issues and other communications and sponsorship issues as and when required.
