Registration for the European Championships Middle Distance Triathlon 2013 will open on Monday 12 November. The event will be held on 19 May 2013 as part of the Half Challenge Barcelona-Maresme.
Back in July, the President of the European Triathlon Union (ETU), Mr Renato Bertrandi, officially announced that the next ETU Long Distance Triathlon will take place at Challenge Vichy on 18 August 2013. Meanwhile, the ETU European Half Distance Championships were awarded to the Half Challenge Barcelona-Maresme.
The Half Challenge Barcelona-Maresme event consists of a 1.9K swim, with the start and finish located on the beach of Calella. The 90K bike route comprises a single lap, riding the Maresme coast. The 21K run starts in Calella Beach, making two laps to Santa Susanna ending on Calella beach near the main transition area.
