The latest release from Ironman brand owner World Triathlon Corp (WTC) notes a high demand for the coveted Ironman finisher medal and that all of the 2012 events are approaching sold-out status.

In response, Vitacost.com, the official nutritional supplement online retailer of Ironman, is giving away four free entries to official Ironman events: two that can be used for any non-championship covered Ironman event, and two that can be used for any non-championship covered Ironman 70.3 event. No purchase is necessary to enter the contest; and athletes can register directly for the Vitacost.com Ironman Event Sweepstakes.

“From fuelling pre-race with brand-name endurance gels to taking that long, well-deserved post-workout shower with your favourite organic body wash, Vitacost.com has the essentials you need to live a healthy, athletic lifestyle,” said David Zucker, Ph.D, Chief Marketing Officer for Vitacost.com.

“Until now, triathletes could find everything short of a ticket to Ironman at Vitacost.com — and now because of this sweepstakes, four lucky contenders will be able to live out that dream courtesy of Vitacost.com as well.”

The online retailer offers an array of sports nutrition products – from protein powders and energy gels to electrolyte tabs and recovery smoothies – among its inventory of more than 30,000 health and wellness products.

“Vitacost.com is committed to making healthy living affordable and accessible to everyone,” Zucker added. “We are excited to make the world’s most exciting and prestigious endurance events within grasp of everyone who has competing in an Ironman on their bucket list.”
