Taiwan’s leading two bike manufacturers, Giant Manufacturing and Merida Industry are expecting to sell in the region of 3.3 million bikes in China this year, according to a report by Taiwan Economic News.
Both Giant and Merida are expecting to see sales increases of +30% in China for 2012, with demand driven by medium to high-end bicycle models. For both companies, China has become the largest single market. Rapid growth in China has helped to offset more steady gains in recession-hit Europe and the US.
